About TradeHQ
TradeHQ is a free educational trading simulator built by Anuga Weerasinghe. It is not a brokerage. There is no real money, no signup, and no advertising trackers. Every practice account starts with $100,000 virtual cash.
Who builds TradeHQ
TradeHQ is built and maintained by Anuga Weerasinghe as an independent educational project. It began as a way to let students in markets with limited access to brokerage accounts learn how trading actually works before risking money they cannot afford to lose.
TradeHQ is not a brokerage, not a registered investment adviser, and not affiliated with any exchange or broker. It holds no client money because it never handles money at all.
How the content is produced
- Lessons and guides are written for TradeHQ, not syndicated from elsewhere.
- Factual claims about market mechanics cite exchange, regulator or central-bank documentation where possible.
- Nothing on the site forecasts prices, and no page recommends an instrument.
- Errors are corrected when reported; the contact page is the fastest route.
How the project is funded
TradeHQ is free to use with no subscription and no paid tier. It is not funded by broker referrals or by payment for asset coverage, and no company pays to appear in a lesson, comparison or guide.
Why this site exists
Most people meet trading through advertising: a broker campaign, an influencer's screenshot, or an app that makes placing an order feel like a game. Almost none of that explains what an order actually does, what position sizing is, or how quickly leverage removes an account. TradeHQ exists to be the boring middle step between that advertising and someone's savings.
The site is deliberately conservative about claims. It does not tell you that trading is a path to income, it does not publish success stories, and it does not imply that practice results predict real ones. Those omissions are the point.
Editorial standards
- No price predictions, targets, signals or 'best asset' rankings anywhere on the site.
- No invented statistics, testimonials, credentials or performance figures.
- Numbers in lessons are worked examples and are labelled as such.
- Every page states that the platform is educational and simulated.
- Corrections are made promptly when a factual error is reported.
